How to deliver inspirational leadership during turbulent times
On the 1st and 2nd of February 2012 High Performance Development will be hosting a fascinating seminar where influential and successful team leaders are coming together with experienced leadership development specialists to share thoughts and ideas on the best ways of approaching these challenges during today’s complex and dynaimc times.
If it feels like you and your fellow managers and directors seem to be taking more and more of these tough decisions, and if it feels like making these decisions is becoming a harder task then this is a great opportunity to listen to, discuss and compare your experiences with inspiring leaders including a former Red Arrows pilot and Commercial Airline Captain, and a round-the-world yacht skipper from the BT Global Challenge Yacht Race, who, along with industry experts that specialise in transforming organisations teams and individuals will bring you up-to-date with the latest thinking on how to lead change, gain workforce commitment, make the right decisions more confidently, inspire others, cope with issues of stress management, and use the latest experiential training methodology to improve performance and get results.
Seeing real change on the ground
Real leadership means seeing your decisions through - the professionals attending this seminar are able to show you exactly how to do that. Leading change is about bringing your decisions to everyone who is involved in a positive and influential way - from the boardroom to the shop floor.
Leading change specialist Ruth Benson will be addressing this topical issue: Ruth’s extensive experience in helping companies through change and coaching leaders to gain commitment from their workforce, ensuring they get the best out of their people and people get the best out of themselves. She is a creative and articulate speaker who knows how to communicate at all levels, and will be sharing her thougths and ideas on inspiring people to produce results during difficult times.
Leading teams through adversity
To survive in hostile times as well as beating and staying ahead of the competition requires strong and inspirational leaders who can build, develop and maintain high perfoming teams that consistantly produce results during the hard times as well as the good times.
Former Red Arrows fighter pilot Dominic Riley shares his experiences from operational front line operations in Afghanistan through to being part of the world famous Red Arrows Aerobatic formation team. He explains how the team is selected and developed into a team that consistantly requires, produces and displays the highest levels of teamwork. The lessons learnt from their constant drive to continually improve are clearly delivered in a relevant way enabling you to apply them back into your own working environment.
From his experience as a captain with an internationally famous airline Dominic goes onto discussing cutting edge methods of decision making when the outcome of your decision will have a dramatic effect on many people.
Round the world yacht skipper Mark Denton shares the leadership highs and lows of building a team and racing them around the world. His epic tale of “leadership in the eye of the storm” is incredibly relevant for organisations and teams who are finding this current economic climate challening.
Stressful times require strong resiliance
Are you working harder for less? Does it feel like you are burning the candle at both ends? Too many managers today are suffering from stress and burnout, in fact stress relate absenteeism is said to cost the British economy £30 billion annually. In these difficult times this is a fact companies can ill afford.
Nutritionist and HPD Director Julie King shares thoughts and ideas on how to increase productivity through increased performance, how to recognise physiological stress and manage this by addressing lifestyle habits and considering work - life balance.
Serious training for serious results
You will certainly get new ideas from this event, but you will also need the tools to deliver them. Training and learning techniques have developed a long way in recent years, and to gain the advantage in these difficult times it's essential to understand how to get your message home to the team quickly and effectively. Ruari Chisolm, Managing Director of High Performance Development, will be outlining the performance advantages of an experiential learning approach - and how managers benefit from it. Ruari is a former Royal Marine with extensive experience in team management. He specialises in designing and delivering leadership and teamworking programmes for organisations within the public and private sectors as well as international sports teams.
