Peter is a highly experienced senior management leisure industry professional with a broad range of experience in all aspects of commercial business and a strong background in sport.
Peter was educated at Exeter University (St Lukes) where he studied for a Physical Education and French Degree.
Following two years of teaching Pete joined an innovative health club chain as a general manager, soon moving to Operations Director, before setting up his own leisure consultancy in London 1989, specialising in design, build, management and operation of health clubs.
In 1991 Pete added a private health club (Presidents) based in 15 acres of rural Somerset to the portfolio and in 1996 AAW Sports Ltd was started which managed contracts at schools, colleges and companies for fitness instruction, personal training, train the trainer, customer care, and wellness and health education. In 1998 a paintball business (Xtreme) was also added successfully to the business.
The company was sold in 2003 and since then Peter has operated as a private management training consultant to both small and blue chip companies. Clients include DHL, Friends Provident, Express Parks, Tesco, LA Fitness and BT amongst others.
Bringing a wealth of experience leading and being part of high performing teams, Peter can relate the key aspects of teamwork and leadership from the sporting field to modern business practice.
Peter has played rugby for Harlequins, London Irish, Blackheath and Taunton and has represented Devon, Surrey and England Students amongst others.
Peter is a Level 3 -qualified rugby coach and also works coaching both a college and a club side in Somerset.
In his spare time Pete like to dabble with tennis, golf, rowing and skiing and tries to maintain a fine balance between a demanding career, an active social life and a full family life.
